Goal
Build a website to feature Artists around the world
smARTpills is a space where the creative community can connect, collaborate and teach one another what they didn’t know they wanted to know.
Research
When creating the website I interveiwed artists to find out what they needed and what we wanted to highlight.
Many artists felt the need for a dedicated platform where they could connect with other artists, share their work, and find new opportunities.
Artists preferred a clean and minimalist design that highlights their work instead of being cluttered with ads or irrelevant content.
Some artists felt that the existing platforms were not user-friendly and required a steep learning curve to navigate.
Many artists expressed a desire to learn new skills and collaborate with artists from different disciplines.
Solutions
When designing for a website like smARTpills, it's important to prioritize the user experience and make it easy for artists to showcase their work and connect.
Avoid cluttering the interface with too many elements or information. A clean and minimalist design will allow the artist's work to shine.
Make sure that the overall design is consistent throughout the website. This will help users navigate the site more easily and find what they're looking for quickly.
Include social sharing buttons on each artwork page to encourage users to share the artwork with others on social media.

Visual Design
It was important to use color to enhance the user experience, but avoid using too many colors or colors that clash with each other. I considered using a color palette that complements the artwork being showcased but since their are so many differnet artists, I ultimately went with a clean red, black and white color palette.

Final feedback
smARTpills is a platform that connects artists, provides resources and opportunities, and creates a community of creatives. We followed a user-centered design approach and involved artists in the design process to create a platform that meets their needs and preferences. Through testing and feedback, we were able to improve the usability and functionality
